The Laramie Project

Milburn Stone Theatre

One Seahawk Drive

North East, MD 21901

The 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard galvanized the world. Many literary and theatrical works were created both to entertain - and to educate - the public about hate crimes and their prevalence in our world today. The best known of these is The Laramie Project, by Mois├ęs Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project. The play examines the reaction to the murder of Shepard by drawing on hundreds of interviews conducted by the theater company with inhabitants of the town, company members' own journal entries, and published news reports. During its three acts, actors portray more than 60 characters in a series of short scenes.

PLEASE NOTE: This production contains mature themes and strong language and may not be suitable for all audiences.
